This year, the DanScatt Annual Meeting was hosted by the University of Copenhagen at the Niels Bohr Institute and 230 MSc students, PhD students, postdocs, researchers, professors and industry specialists working within synchrotron and neutron-based science attended. The program included 16 speakers sharing their research and over 100 contributions for a poster session. Three researchers, Anne Marie Faaborg, Emma Chaos, and Miguel Kofoed, were selected for the poster prize for their outstanding presentation.

The PhD prize of the year was awarded to Bjørt Óladóttir Joensen for her research on  "Understanding Interactions Between Carbon Dioxide, Carbonate and Anion Exchange Membranes for Electrochemical Operation". The PhD award is sponsored by Xnovo, to encourage new young talents within the field of x-ray and neutron science. The meeting concluded with a report from the DanScatt Chair Martin Meedom. Overall, a very successful annual meeting that would not have been possible without the many sponsors, partners and organizers.

In 2026, three satellite workshops were organized around the annual meeting which in total over 100 people attended:

  • The DanScatt Neutron Workshop discussed the development, challenges and future use of large-scale neutron facilities.
  • The DanScatt Integrative Structural Biology Workshop brought together leading researchers to showcase how structural techniques are combined with core biophysical approaches to generate deeper biological insight.
  • The DanScatt XFEL Workshop, organized for the sixth time, discussed the perspectives and opportunities for X‑ray free‑electron laser science.
